Destination: the Italian countryside, where an unseen magic works its charms on the women in The Enchanted April, by Elizabeth Von Arnim. Readers' Services Manager Kaite Stover has the review.

The annual Adult Winter Reading Program runs from January 9 – March 11. The 2012 program offers a chance to win a Nook e-reader as well as the opportunity to see Winter Reading featured author Attica Locke in person on March 21 at the Plaza Branch, where she will discuss her new book, Black Water Rising.

The theme for Winter Reading, Destination: Anywhere!, offers readers some of the most captivating vistas put into print, scenic landscapes that create a mood and motivate men and women to act on instinct, impulse, or whim. These destinations are places that shape people – and shape readers.
