November is the National Novel Writing Month

All Kansas City Public Library locations will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, and will remain closed all day Thursday, November 27, for Thanksgiving.

National Novel Writing Month
In november of each year, teens from around the world say "Yes!" to the challenge of writing a novel in a month

Can you write a novel in 30 days? Will you take up this challenge? If your answer is YES,

you are in for a month full of adventure!

This month and in November, we are calling all young writers in Kansas City and the surrounding areas to join the exciting worldwide movement called “NaNoWriMo,” or the National Novel Writing Month. About 100,000 teens from around the globe will take on the journey of writing a novel and encouraging each other to write. It is fun and challenging once you get your first book written down, page by page.

Writer's block? Lack of motivation? No problem! You can meet fellow writers in person, get support and pep talks, and track your progress at the same time.

We are meeting at Central Youth Services activity room every Sunday at 1 p.m. starting this coming Sunday, October 27. Laptops are provided.
