What is Teen Advisory board (TAB)?

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a group of teens who help out the Library by giving their opinion on programming, what the library should purchase, and how to reach other teens in the community.

The Kansas City Public Library would like to have a committed, enthusiastic group of teens aged 13-18 who will meet one Saturday a month. Snacks and refreshments are provided. Some ideas we have for TAB members include:

  • Advising, planning and implementing teen programs.
  • Writing articles, reviews, and creative works for the Library’s Teen Blog.
  • Discussing books, music, movies, and give recommendations for the Library’s YA collection.
  • Promoting the Library to friends via Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, and other social media platforms.
  • Promoting the Library in the community.
  • Creating the Library’s Teen Newsletter.
  • Helping out as needed at the Library teen events.
