Cleaver Family YMCA
The Cleaver Family YMCA, located at 7000 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO, is, like all YMCA facilities, dedicated to enriching the family, spiritual, mental and physical well-being of its members. It offers water aerobics, cycling, camping activities, exercise programs, strength training, healthy lifestyle education, etc. There are activities for all age ranges. Although not officially a park, what is commonly known as Gillham Park, encompasses property next to Gillham Road from 22nd & McGee south to Brush Creek Blvd. Today, the park includes a wading pool, two baseball diamonds, a playground, two tennis courts, and an exercise trail.
Gregg Community Center
As part of the Kansas City Parks & Recreation Dept,. the Gregg Community Center’s motto is “Where fitness, swimming and boxing are our daily exercise!” Located at 1600 John “Buck” O”Neil Way, the Center offers holistic fitness & nutrition programs, step aerobics, youth boxing and aerobics classes. Southeast Community Center
The new Southeast Community Center, part of the Kansas City Parks & Recreation Dept., is at 4201 E. 63rd St. It has a basketball court, therapy & recreation pools, weight room, and indoor track. Located at the intersection of Swope Parkway & Meyer Blvd, Swope Park is Kansas City’s premier and largest park at 1805 acres, Swope Park offers an endless list of outdoor activities, including Swope Memorial and Heart of America Golf Courses, disc golf course, exercise trails, mountain bike trails, two tennis courts, three playgrounds, numerous picnic areas, six baseball diamonds, three cricket fields, and four soccer fields.
