On - line book lists for users on KC Pub library web site

Posted: October 6, 2011

First, before I complain, I want to praise the KC Public library for the Plaza library. It is a wonderful place to work and is in great location.

My suggestion is for the KC Public library to establish an online capability for users to store lists of books similar to the one that the Johnson County Library system has on their web site. I use the Plaza branch frequently to study. During breaks I wander around and look at the books displayed in the new book section. When I see one I like, I go back to my computer, log on to the Johnson County Library site, look and see if they have the book, and if they do, place it in my "For Later" list. It would make more sense if KC Library had this capability so I could put the book in the list of the library where I found the book.

That is my idea -- thanks for letting me share it.

Thank you for this recommendation. The "Wish List" catalog feature is resource intensive and our library has not utilized it. We will consider your request and determine if this is a feature we can offer to our patrons in the future.
