After Hours (1985)

To complement our Winter Reading Program, While the City Sleeps, the Library is screening films that unfold in the wee hours when most of us are soundly asleep.
While the City Sleeps: After Dark
Monday, February 25, 2013
6:30pm @ Central Library

The screening of After Hours at the Central Library, 14 W. 10th St. – initially scheduled for this evening, Monday, February 25, 2013 – has been cancelled due to the impending winter storm.

While most of us are sawing logs, a few hearty insomniacs find in the wee wee hours an opportunity for adventure, terror, and love. These titles have been selected to complement this year’s Adult Winter Reading Program, While the City Sleeps.

Directed by Martin Scorsese, After Hours is a black comedy in which a meek guy from uptown (Griffin Dunne) agrees to meet a girl late at night in Soho...and finds himself stranded without money, i.d., or transportation.
