Casual Concert Series presents Kevin Hiatt

In cooperation with The Kansas City Guitar Society, the Kansas City Public Library welcomes Kevin Hiatt as part of the Casual Concert Series on Saturday, February 28, at 2 p.m. at the Central Library, 14 W. 10th St.

Hiatt will perform his original fingerstyle compositions on 6-string, 7-string, and 12-string acoustic guitars. His music straddles the boundaries between the classical, folk, pop and jazz genres.

Hiatt is a classically trained guitarist and composer of over 100 works of chamber and orchestral music. He holds degrees in composition from the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Established in 1986, the Kansas City Guitar Society was created to foster appreciation and encourage artistry of the guitar in the greater Kansas City area. The society is under the direction of Douglas Niedt, a five-time performer in Carnegie Hall and associate professor at the Conservatory of Music at UMKC, his alma mater.

Admission is free. Click here to RSVP or call 816.701.3407 to RSVP. Free parking is available in the Library District Parking Garage at 10th and Baltimore.
