Women of the West

1:30pm @ Central Library

Seeking revenge for her murdered father, a girl (Jane Fonda) turns outlaw and hires a drunken has-been gunslinger (Lee Marvin) to take on the baddies. In this comedy Marvin shines both as the boozy sharpshooter and his twin brother, a psychopath with a steel nose. Don’t ask. (97 minutes; NR)

To complement the Big Read effort and shed more light on the theme of women in the Old West, the Library throughout October is offering Women of the West, a free film series in the Stanley H. Durwood Film Vault at the Central Library, 14 W. 10th St.
