A Conversation on Immigrants and Civil Rights

The Kansas City Public Library will host A Conversation on Immigrants and Civil Rights on Monday, February 23, at 6 p.m. in the Truman Forum at the Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St.

Civil rights attorney Bill Raney and immigration attorney Angela Ferguson will discuss several aspects of the immigration issue in America. The audience will be asked to participate in the discussion.

Raney is a partner at the law firm of Copilevitz & Canter, LLC in Kansas City. His practice focuses on First Amendment issues and compliance with state and federal telemarketing laws. Raney is president of the board of directors of the American Civil Liberties Union of Kansas and Western Missouri.

Ferguson is a partner in the Kansas City office of Austin & Ferguson, LLC. The firm is dedicated solely to the practice of immigration law. Ferguson has served four years as the chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association for Missouri and Kansas.
