Ebert Presents… Blood & Wine (1996)
The Off-the-Wall Film Series screens cult films selected by Pulitzer Prize-winning critic Roger Ebert, who has curated this summer of must-see cinema.
Blood & Wine is an intricate morality play starring Jack Nicholson as a jewel thief who loses the goods – and then schemes against his partner, family, and mistress to recover the elusive score. Ebert describes the film as “lurid and blood-soaked beyond description, but it is handled seriously, as a string of events illustrating the maxim that bad things happen to bad people.” Rated R. (101 min.)
Films are screened on the Rooftop Terrace.
