EbertfestKC: The Band's Visit (2007)
Pulitzer Prize-winning film critic Roger Ebert curates the annual Off-the-Wall Film Series, presenting a cross section of his favorite films called EbertfestKC.
In The Band’s Visit, a touring band comprised of members of an Egyptian police force becomes lost in a small Israeli town, bringing together two cultures for a memorable yet unimportant evening. Ebert’s review: “The movie avoids what we might expect, a meeting of the minds, and gives us instead a sharing of quiet desperation.” In English, Arabic, and Hebrew, with subtitles.
Films are screened outside on the Rooftop Terrace. In case of inclement weather, screenings will be moved inside to Helzberg Auditorium.
