Veterinarian Charlotte Clifford-Rathert discusses Farm Animals in the City on Saturday, June 20, at 2 p.m. at the Irene H. Ruiz Branch, 2017 W. Pennway St.

Rathert will discuss the laws governing livestock in cities – such as goats, rabbits, and chickens – and offer tips for people interested in keeping animals as pets or for eggs, meat, or milk. Rathert will discuss laws in the Kansas City area, safety and health of animals, and suggestions for ensuring that neighbors are comfortable with the arrangement.

Rathert is a veterinarian and small animal specialist with Lincoln University Cooperative Extension and Research.
