Greetings from Eastside Kansas City - Michael Bushnell

The lake in Troost Park was once an encampment used by Mormons migrating to Independence. Linked together by Linwood Boulevard and The Paseo, Kansas City’s East side is an area rich in history, as evidenced in vintage postcard views. Local historian and postcard collector Michael Bushnell presents a series of postcard tours of Kansas City neighborhoods. Bushnell is publisher of The Northeast News, a weekly community newspaper that serves the Historic Northeast area of Kansas City. He is also the author of Historic Postcards of Old Kansas City. These talks complement the exhibit Greetings from Kansas City: A Postcard View of a Midwest Metropolis, 1900-1950, on display at the Central Library through May 31, 2013.
