Hall-Higdon Duo

On Sunday, November 2, at 2 p.m. the Central Library, 14 W. 10th St., hosts the musical group the Hall-Higdon Duo.

Pianist Patricia Higdon and flutist Dr. James Hall have performed together throughout the United States since 2004 in venues including Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall. The duo will perform classics from Philippe Gaubert, Olivier Messiaen, Benjamin Godard, Paul Hindemith, Lukas Foss, and Robert Muczynski.

Higdon maintains an active career as a chamber musician, teacher, and coach. A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music, she has performed with the Kansas City Chorale and is on two recordings, Fernhill and Words and Music, and is a keyboardist for the Chamber Music Society of Kansas City. Hall is a noted solo recitalist, chamber player, orchestral musician, concerto soloist, and teacher. Having earned master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Hall has been a featured soloist with the Kansas City Civic Orchestra and the Southeast Kansas Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with the Sarasota Music Festival Orchestra, the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra, the Kansas City Civic Opera, and the Kansas City Chorale.
