A widow (Conchata Ferrell) travels to Wyoming to become housekeeper for a crusty bachelor rancher (Rip Torn). Hers is a life of isolation and backbreaking labor, but somehow love blossoms with her taciturn employer. Based on the well-known frontier letters of Elinore Randall Stewart. (96 minutes; PG)
