I Wrote a Book, Now What?

The creative challenges of writing a book are at least matched by the difficulty of shepherding it to publication. Author Mira Bartok offers a common-sense guide to navigating the world of publishing, from finding an agent and publisher to undergoing the editorial process and handling publicity. Bartok’s The Memory Palace was a New York Times bestselling memoir and winner of the 2011 National Book Critics Circle Award for Autobiography. She has written more than two dozen children’s books, and founded the blog Mira’s List at miraslist.com to offer advice on publishing opportunities. Co-sponsored by Artist INC’s re-FRESH series and the Johnson County Community College Scholar-In-Residence program.
