Jack Masey - Exhibition Wars

This event has been cancelled at the author’s request due to a serious family illness. During the Cold War, World’s Fairs afforded the U.S. and the Soviet Union an opportunity to represent their competing ideologies through architecture and exhibits. Jack Masey discusses his role in planning many of America’s pavilions in Exhibition Wars: How the Cold War Superpowers Faced Off at World’s Fairs. This is the Library’s final program in collaboration with Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art’s exhibit Inventing the Modern World: Decorative Arts at the World’s Fairs, 1851-1939.
