James H. Willbanks - The Medal of Honor: A History

James H. Willbanks, director of the Department of Military History at the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, discusses the history of the Medal of Honor, which has been awarded by the president in the name of Congress to more than 3,400 of the bravest and most heroic members of the U.S. armed forces since 1861.

Willbanks, a decorated retired U.S. Army officer, has personally been awarded the Silver Star, Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, among others.
