On Tuesday, November 11, at 7 p.m. at the Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St., Jill Tietjen discusses her book, Her Story: A Timeline of the Women Who Changed America.

Read Before You Go:
Women in America

The book, co-authored with Charlotte S. Weisman, serves as a slideshow of American women’s history with images and captions documenting women of great achievement in culture, science, politics, business, entertainment, and sports. Her Story profiles over 900 women from Pocahontas to Oprah Winfrey to Sister Rose Thering, who was instrumental in the Vatican’s repeal of its policy of holding Jews responsible for the crucifixion.

An author, speaker, and electrical engineer, Tietjen has published the Setting the Record Straight series of books, exploring the history of women in accounting, engineering, and professional achievement. She is CEO of Technically Speaking, a national consulting company specializing in improving opportunities for women and girls to find more career options in technology.

This event is co-sponsored by Rainy Day Books. A 6:30 p.m. reception will precede the presentation. Tietjen’s books will be available for sale, and the author will sign copies purchased during the event. Admission to the event is free. Click here or call 816.701.3407 to RSVP.
