Highly regarded musicians, soprano Victoria Botero and guitarist Beau Bledsoe are an exciting duo that blends extraordinarily diverse guitar and voice traditions from around the world, creating highly varied programs (ranging from German lieder to Argentine tangos) that incorporate their research and personal experiences.
Established in 1986, the Kansas City Guitar Society was created to foster appreciation and encourage artistry of the guitar in the greater Kansas City area. The society is under the direction of Douglas Niedt, a five-time performer in Carnegie Hall and associate professor at the Conservatory of Music at UMKC, his alma mater.
