The Legacy of Kansas City’s Hare & Hare
All Kansas City Public Library locations will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, and will remain closed all day Thursday, November 27, for Thanksgiving.
To most local landscape architects, Hare & Hare is a household name. The firm has left an indelible mark on some of the most iconic and often-visited areas of Kansas City—the Country Club Plaza, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Loose Park, Ward Parkway, and Mission Hills among them.
Father-and-son collaborators Sid and Herbert Hare were part of a synergistic design team assembled by legendary Kansas City developer J.C. Nichols that was internationally recognized for its excellence.
Their 100-year-old legacy is commemorated in this new exhibit.
