The Kansas City Public Library presents Love in the Land of Dementia: Finding Hope in the Caregiver's Journey on Sunday, April 5, at 2 p.m. at the Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St.

Love in the Land of Dementia is an intergenerational and inspirational performance that explores such complex issues as loss and change, flexibility and acceptance, and the difficulty of connecting with loved ones who have Alzheimer's disease. These stories offer insight, information, and hope to families, friends, and caregivers.

The performers are: Deborah Shouse, Ron Zoglin, and Annemarie Timmons. Shouse is author of Love in the Land of Dementia and her writings about Alzheimer's disease have also appeared in The Washington Post, The Kansas City Star, Spirituality and Health, Woman's Day, and Chicken Soup for the Caregiver's Soul. Zoglin is a professional storyteller who has performed for businesses, universities, and international conferences. Timmons is a musician who weaves music throughout the stories.
