Meet the Past with Crosby Kemper III returns for a conversation with George Caleb Bingham, whose paintings of Missouri and the American frontier have earned him a reputation as one of America’s greatest genre painters of the 19th century.

Bingham will be portrayed by Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre veteran Robert Gibby Brand, who portrayed Edgar Snow at a previous Meet the Past event. The program takes place on the 200th anniversary of Bingham’s birthday.

This presentation is part of the Missouri Valley Speakers Series. Co-sponsored by the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
