An Open Session with the Kansas City Plein Air Coterie
All Library locations will be closed on Monday, February 15 in observance of Presidents' Day.
Two times a year members of the Kansas City Plein Air Coterie hold an open session where members of the public may join professional artists in painting in the great outdoors. The next such session will be held on the Central Library’s Rooftop Terrace.
“En Plein Air” means “in plain air,” and founder Robert Bingaman calls the process “invigorating, amusing, and rewarding … I think we’ve quietly and consistently done something wonderful for Kansas City. We have highlighted our city’s civic landmarks and we have reminded citizens that any street corner is worthy of painting.”
Free art supplies will be provided.
