These Walls Were Made for Talking

Your house just might be a tangible piece of Kansas City history. Gain the tools to coax your home into telling its tale on Saturday, July 25, at 1 p.m. at the Waldo Branch, 201 E. 75th St.

The Missouri Valley Special Collections Department of the Kansas City Public Library teams up with the Jackson County Historical Society for this program on researching the history of your home—a process that could land your property on the Kansas City Historic Register or even the National Register of Historic Places.

Learn research methods to investigate your structure from David Jackson, director of Archives and Education for the Jackson County Historical Society. Mary Beveridge, manager of Missouri Valley Special Collections, will also offer insights on unique research materials such as the Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps that are only available at the Library.

Admission is free. Click here or call 816.701.3407  to RSVP.
