Town Hall Meeting

A series of town hall meetings are scheduled at various branches of The Kansas City Public Library throughout March, in an effort to elicit information from community members regarding the future direction of the Library.

The Library seeks participation from patrons and non-patrons alike. Discussion points of particular interest are general Library services, breadth of the collection and media formats, online accessibility and provisions, along with customer expectations of DVD, CD, and best-seller collections.

The current meeting schedule is as follows:
  • Monday, March 16,from 7–8:30 p.m. in the Truman Forum at the Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St. RSVP now.
  • Monday, March 23, from 7–8:30 p.m. in the Helzberg Auditorium at the Central Library, 14 W. 10th St. RSVP now.
  • Thursday, March 26, from 6:30–8 p.m. at the North-East Branch, 6000 Wilson Rd. RSVP now.
  • Tuesday, March 31, from 6:30–8 p.m. at the Waldo Branch, 201 E. 75th St. RSVP now.
Additionally, a forum for teenagers is scheduled on Thursday, March 19, from 3:30-5 p.m. at the L.H. Bluford Branch, 3050 Prospect. Another meeting for parents of young children is on Saturday, March 21, from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Truman Forum, Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St. RSVP now for March 19 or March 21.
