A Tribute to Kansas City History, As Told Through Walt Bodine

On Friday, April 24, at 10 a.m., the Walt Bodine Show, featuring the Kansas City radio icon, will broadcast live from the Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St. 

Bodine and special guest host and noted local radio personality, Chuck Haddix, will discuss recently re-discovered interviews conducted by Bodine with notable figures such as Robert F. Kennedy, Werner von Braun, Kansas City Mayor Ilus Davis, and many more.

With more than 50 years in the media, Walt Bodine's background includes staff announcer, program script writer, television reporter, and news anchor with stints as news reporter and news director for WDAF-TV and radio.  For his work, Bodine has received numerous awards including the Kansas City Spirit Award in 1987, recognizing him as the "voice of the people" and "our community conscience." More recently Bodine was the recipient of the Bishop John J. Sullivan Award for Communications.
