Waldo Library Readers Circle
In our busy world, people often wish they had more time to read. Here is your invitation to make time by joining a program offered by the Waldo Library.
We call our boo
k group a “Readers Circle” because we emphasize discussion. We read short stories from cultures all around the world. Topics include friendship, family and human relationships; moral issues and social problems; professional life and politics; religion and spirituality. Our purpose is to share interpretations and explore ideas. Respect and courtesy – listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, understand what your neighbor thinks – these insure that our conversation expands the intellectual horizon. We laugh a lot and often unearth deep emotions. We’re successful because trust is basic: no negative comments, no hurtful criticism. Our goal is to grapple with literature in order to enrich the meaning of life.
If you are searching for people who value insightful discussion of fiction, look no further! We meet every Wednesday from 12:00 - 1:30 P.M.
