City Market watering hole Harry’s Country Club has joined forces with the Library to bring rock ‘n’ roll movies to the summer Off-the-Wall film series.

Those attending the Friday night screenings will receive a coupon good for 25% off food and drink purchases of $10 or more at Harry’s at 112 Missouri Avenue. The coupon is good any day an Off-the-Wall screening is scheduled and can be used before or after the show.

Entitled Procreation, Pharmaceuticals, and Backbeat-Driven/Blues-Based Music (think about it), this series dishes comedy, a dash of drama, and a whole lot of toe-tapping, head-bobbing (if not head-banging) music.

The Library’s summer film series of rock ‘n’ roll movies continues with visionary director Julie Taymor’s saga of Jude (Jim Sturgess) and Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood), young lovers who negotiate the upheaval of the 1960s through a fantastic collection of imaginatively-staged Beatles tunes.

Films are screened outside on the Rooftop Terrace. Filmgoers are welcome to bring blankets and folding chairs. In cases of inclement weather, screenings will be moved indoors to Helzberg Auditorium.
