Children in kindergarten through eighth grade are encouraged to tap their creative energies and create masterpieces at the Westport Center for the Arts’ Team Up for Art this winter.

Artist Brian Stanley Morgan will lead workshops on January 28th, February 18th and March 24th. Participants will focus on both individual skill building and the completion of a group project by the end of the session. All age and skill levels participate in the final product using recycled and donated materials.

Participants will break for a half-hour snack time in the morning and a half-hour lunch break in the afternoon. Parents are asked to provide an age-appropriate snack and lunch for their child. Westport Center for the Arts will provide the beverages.

Participants are encouraged to wear clothing suitable for working with paint, glue, clay and other hands-on materials. Parents or guardians of children 8 years old or younger must attend the session. Younger participants and their families should plan on spending at least two hours at the workshop.

Westport Center for the Arts was founded in 2006 to support community artists and the arts. In addition to the monthly Brown Bag Concerts, WCA presents Readers’ Theater, dance performances, art exhibitions and a foreign film series.
