Westport Historical Society Speaker Series

The Westport Historical Society Speaker Series seeks to promote and foster public interest in and preserve the significance of local history. Title of Talk: Raymond Starzmann Portrays President Harry S. Truman Speaker: Raymond Starzmann Join us at the Westport Branch Library on Saturday September 12th as we welcome Mr. Raymond Starzmann in a portrayal of President Harry S. Truman. Mr. Starzmann met and visited with the real President Truman on several occasions, as well as other presidents and noted political figures throughout the years. His theatrical presentations have been given to a wide range of audiences including legislators, school children, university students, and political and corporate conventions. Mr. Starzmann is currently on staff at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, MO. He is a native of Philadelphia where he attended Girard College. Mr. Starzmann later earned a political science degree from Park University in Parkville, MO and participated in the Teach American History Workshop in Inkster, MI in 2010.
