Westport Historical Society Speaker Series

The Westport Historical Society Speaker Series seeks to promote and foster public interest in and preserve the significance of local history. Title of Talk: A Day in the Life of a 19th Century Domestic Goddess Speaker: Teddy Wiberg Join us at the Westport Branch Library on Saturday May 9th as we welcome speaker Teddy Wiberg. Wiberg will speak about the life of a typical mid-19th century "housewife" in Western Missouri, and the skills, perseverance, and bravery required to survive and ensure the success of her family. Teddy Wiberg earned her teaching certificate in secondary social studies from Avila University and has been a volunteer interpreter for both Missouri Town and the Harris Kearney House Museum. She enjoys studying this time period in history and looks forward to sharing her knowledge with everyone. Second Saturday Speaker Series, May 9th @ 2:00pm Westport Branch Library, 118 Westport Road Speaker's Reception follows at the Harris Kearney House, 40th & Baltimore
