The Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) literacy program uses therapy animals to improve children's reading and education skills. Join the R.E.A.D. team at the Waldo Branch on the second Saturday each month between September 2017 and April 2018 (excluding December and January) as children read the pooches some prose. Children may sign up for a 10-minute slot each Saturday. Parents must sign a release form before children will be allowed to read with a dog.
Join us for another installation in our Westport Historical Society Speaker Series! Mr. Steve Sitton will discuss famed artist's Thomas Hart Benton's Year of Peril painting series. The collective works, created immediately after the attack on Pearl Harbor, made a decided impression on WWII propaganda efforts. Mr. Sitton's program will explore Benton's political background, look at each of the paintings, the critical reaction to Year of Peril, and examine the rest of Benton's artistic output during the war.
Steve Sitton has been the director of the Thomas Hart Benton Home & Studio State Historic Site since 2001, and worked for MO State Parks since 1994. He is a graduate of Ruskin High School and earned his degree in history from Drury College.
RSVPs are welcome but not required.

If you're a super fan in either of these areas, you'll likely find the support you've been looking for to share your extensive knowledge on trivia and conspiracy theories or new songs and comebacks. We represent fans from both groups with some crossover. This program is led and developed by teen Kpop and Anime fans.
