First Friday Film Classic

While it doesn't follow Faulkner's novel so much, this movie has it all. In 19-year-old Lauren Becall's debut, you can already catch a hint of the fireworks that would go off between she and her well known co-star Humphrey Bogart. This film has it all, good screenplay, great directing by Howard Hawkes, good music (Hoagy Carmichael) and the French resistance of WWII.

Film Rating:
NR - Not Rated
The Central Library again provides a perfect family-friendly starting point on First Friday. Among the offerings: the exhibit Cattle, Cowboys, and Culture: Kansas City and Amarillo, Building an Urban West and Rodolfo Marron III’s reflective This Is for La Raza. There’s also a pre-Christmas book giveaway, live holiday music … and Santa.
Friday Night Family Fun

Kansas City’s StoneLion Puppet Theatre delivers a festive start to the holiday season with a delightful marionette show about what all the toys and goodies do when no one is watching. Appropriate for all ages.
