Come join the Kansas City Public Schools Parents as Teachers program for a time of interaction with your child and connection to other parents and caregivers from the community. There will be opportunities for play that support where your child is at developmentally as well as chances for interaction and friendship with other parents of young children. Parents as Teachers believes you are your child's first and most important teacher, so come ready to learn and play.

Everyone is welcome, from beginners on up. While we normally meet on the last Monday of every month we've moved it up a week due to the library being closed Christmas Day. Take some time for yourself during the hectic holiday season and pick up a fun hobby while you're at it.

Let’s play a little, chat a little and show off our cool ukuleles.

Bring your uke and a favorite (easy) song to share.

Get fit fast with America s #1 walking system! Leslie Sansone's 2 Mile Brisk Walk-30 Minutes
This is an extension of the Walk On 1 class. Participants will follow Leslie's DVD in a 2 mile walking workout that builds strength, endurance and flexibility, while boosting energy levels and super-charging your upper and lower body. This class is free and open to the public.

You can start on the road to better health with Stay Strong-Stay Healthy, an eight week strength training program offered by MU Extension. The evidence-based program is a series of simple, strength-building exercises that will improve balance, health and state of mind. It's not strenuous weight lifting, rather, everyone starts at a level that is right for them. No one is too inactive to participate. In fact, strength-building activities promote quality of life and independence, especially for adults over age 60.

More information on the class, starting October 30th, is available at the North East Public Library. (816) 701-3485.
