The immigration issue affects virtually every American, directly or indirectly, often in deeply personal ways.  

At this discussion, three options will be presented that reflect different ways of understanding what is at stake and they force us to think about what matters most to us when we face difficult problems that involve all of us and that do not have perfect solutions.

Boss Tom's Time Film Series
As the Library launches its historical website The Pendergast Years: Kansas City in the Jazz Age & Great Depression (pendergastkc.org), it offers three memorable films set in the 1920s and ’30s era when the political machine of “Boss Tom” Pendergast ruled Kansas City’s government and criminal underworld.

This title is Rated R and is recommended for adult audiences only.

In the first of the series, Star reporters Joyce Smith, Aaron Randle and Steve Vockrodt join members of the public for a conversation about issues affecting the Westport area, such as safety, nightlife and development.  Coffee and pastries provided. RSVP is required as space is limited.
