Bleach out your drawings on a canvas bag and then make it glow.

Frankenstein had the right idea when he pieced together his old school zombie monster. Sew up your own frightening mini zombie friends.

The newest exhibition of the Orval Hixon Gallery, New Compositions: The Dance Portraiture of Orval Hixon, is on display from June 11, 2011 through 2013 at the Central Library, 14 W. 10th St. The exhibit features a rich selection of Hixon’s portraits, including images of some of the best-known dancers of his time.

To most local landscape architects, Hare & Hare is a household name. The firm has left an indelible mark on some of the most iconic and often-visited areas of Kansas City—the Country Club Plaza, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Loose Park, Ward Parkway, and Mission Hills among them.

Learn the basic functions of your computer such as using the mouse and keyboard. This class also offers insights into hardware and software components. Registration is required. Call 701-3488 to register.

Children in kindergarten through eighth grade are encouraged to tap their creative energies and create masterpieces at the Westport Center for the Arts’ Team Up for Art this summer.

Artist Stanley Brian Morgan will lead this summer workshop. Participants will focus on both individual skill building and the completion of a group project by the end of the session. All age and skill levels participate in the final product using recycled and donated materials.

Part Four: Your place in the Nightscape!
Choose your favorite building designs from Part One, soft circuits from Part Three, and use your own creativity to design your own Kansas City Landmark complete with working lights. Your creation will be carved from black foam board and added as the next layer of our cityscape project.
