Everyone knows of George Washington; few of us know much about his education, businesses, and day-to-day life. Through paintings, photos, and iconic objects from Mount Vernon this exhibit takes a multi-dimensional look at the man behind the many myths.

The exhibit was created by George Washington’s Mount Vernon in conjunction with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, and was made possible by a generous grant from the F.M. Kirby Foundation.

What films were Kansas Citians watching back in 1963? A new film series gives contemporary moviegoers a chance to relive the romance, drama, and thrills of 50 years past.

Gregory Peck plays the title character, a military psychiatrist running a stateside mental ward during World War II. Faced with a paltry budget and superiors who dubious that such a thing as "battle fatigue" even exists, Newman relies on his nurse (Angie Dickinson) and a hustling assistant (Tony Curtis) to find the means to treat his shellshocked patients (played by the likes of Bobby Darin and Robert Duvall).
