Hixon transformed the field of portrait photography in Kansas City and the surrounding region during a career that spanned more than seven decades. His studios—the first in the Brady Building at 11th and Main Streets, and the second just one block west in the Baltimore Hotel—welcomed thousands of patrons throughout the 1910s and 1920s.

Parking is free for one hour in the Library garage, and there is also street-side parking for 75 cents an hour.

Oh My Teen discusses The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau. Oh My Teen book group is a program for teens that meets the second Tuesday of every month at the Trails West branch library. Copies are available for checkout at the branch library.
