The Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) literacy program uses therapy animals to improve children's reading and communication skills. Join the R.E.A.D. team at the Waldo Branch the second Saturday in July (July 11) as children read the pooches some prose. Children may sign up for a 10-minute slot. Parents must sign a release form before children will be allowed to read with one of the dogs.

Have you got what it takes to be a superhero? Send your young hero to our training camp, where they can practice feats of strength, agility, and bravery, make crafts to keep and get an official Library Superhero certificate. Costumes encouraged, or make your own superhero disguise at the library!
