Be sure to bring your little one for fun activities and playtime! This playgroup offers a chance to develop early literacy skills for children ages three months to five years old. Stop by anytime between 10:30-11:30am.

Various activities will be stationed around the room, allowing you to move at your child’s pace. We’ll incorporate The Every Child Ready to Read initiative’s five key areas of early reading skills that are indicators of future reading success: talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing.

Dia Celebration! Join the North-East Branch, as hundreds of libraries throughout the country host special multicultural events in celebration of El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children's Day/Book Day). The Dia Celebration will include a multicultural storytime, a design-your-own book craft for children, delicious snacks, and more!

Students from Kansas City’s Community School #1 will perform their play “The Clowns,” in which stories and songs celebrate friendship and working together.

Community School #1 is a small, independent elementary school built on the principles of academic excellence, responsible citizenship, and sense of community.
