In partnership with Harvesters: The Community Food Network, the Kansas City Public Library announces its annual Food for Fines Week from October 12-18, 2015.

During this period, Library patrons are encouraged to bring undamaged and unexpired boxed or canned non-perishable food items to any Library location. Each single food item will be applied as a $1 credit toward the reduction of existing overdue fines.

A gathering of needleworks enthusiasts! This group meets every Thursday and works on all kinds of needlework projects (knitting, rug hooking, crochet, applique, needlepoint, embroidery, etc.) No instruction is provided. Just bring a project and have fun!

Looking to volunteer at your library? Stop by and find out the many ways you can participate to gain the volunteer hours you might need to graduate. We'll collaborate together to plan teen events at the library. Meetings are approximately 1 hour 15 min in length.

Come enjoy some of your favorite online and board games at the Ruiz Branch on the third Friday of each month. Join your pals for a friendly game of LIFE, SORRY, Apples to Apples, or any other game in our collection. The computers will be available for online games as well.

For ages 12-18, and a parental permission form must be signed.
