Gabriella Polony Mountain’s generosity made the Library’s newest art gallery possible. Appropriately, as the gleaming exhibit space opens on the second floor of the downtown Central Library, her bold, colorful sculptures, mosaics, stained glass, repoussé, and weavings are the first to fill it.

This new exhibit, in collaboration with the Consulate of Mexico in Kansas City, spotlights the colorful, evocative works of many of Mexico’s top illustrators of youth literature, including the winning and honorable-mention selections from the country’s 24th Catalogue of Illustrators of Children and Youth Publications contest.
