It's the latest suburban adventure - keeping laying hens in your own backyard. You no longer have to live on a farm to own chickens!

Join Christine Shuck, writer, artist, community educator, and owner of the Deadly Nightshade Farm, along with her favorite hen, Little Miss Crankyfoot (don't worry - she's as sweet as can be), and learn about the basics of good chicken care, their behaviors, the benefits, and how to start your own backyard flock!

Admission is FREE.

Based off of the comic book series Lumberjanes – The MO Parks Department will be hosting a campout at the Plaza Library! Teens will have the chance to earn badges just like in summer camp. Learn archery and earn the Robyn Hood badge, face your stage fright with the Space Jamboree badge, and see if your words can earn you the title Pungeon Master! There are many more badges and big prizes to those who can collect them all! This event is a part of the Mayor's Nights summer event series.
