Gabriella Polony Mountain’s generosity made the Library’s newest art gallery possible. Appropriately, as the gleaming exhibit space opens on the second floor of the downtown Central Library, her bold, colorful sculptures, mosaics, stained glass, repoussé, and weavings are the first to fill it.

This new group exhibit, presented by Kansas City’s Plug Projects in partnership with the Library, features local and national artists who explore text and language as they relate to both medium and content. Their drawings, paintings, collages, and mixed media images bridge the space between book and art object.

The exhibit opens in conjunction with its third annual art book fair in Plug Projects’ West Bottoms gallery.
