Electronic Mail or E-Mail is a form of electronic communication over the Internet. It is faster and cheaper than paper based mail. It also offers a simple means of sending out multiple "letters" and allows for quick response from the recipient.

There are many free e-mail services available. Typically these services offer plenty of storage, effective spam filtering, a fast interface and more. The following is a list of the most popular E-mail services:

To Sign Up for an account on Yahoo! Mail:

• Go to http://login.yahoo.com
• Click on Sign Up
• Enter the required information:
  • Name.
  • Gender.
  • Create a Yahoo ID.
  • Click on Check Availability of this ID. If your ID is unavailable you will be prompted to enter three words for ID suggestions.
  • Enter a password (twice).
  • Pick a security question.
  • Birth date.
  • Zip code.
  • Alternate Email.
• Verify your registration by entering the cryptic code.
• Accept the Terms of Service.
• Registration Complete!

Remember to write down you username (or ID) and password. You will need them to sign on and read or send your mail.
To send a message in Yahoo! Mail:

• Click on compose.
• Type in the e-mail address of the person you are writing. For example: buckrogers1234@yahoo.com
• Write your message.
• Click on the Send button located on the bottom of the screen.
• When finished, log out.
