Kansas Notable Books
Kansas Notable Books is a project of the Kansas Center for the Book at the State Library of Kansas and was created to recognize the literary richness of our state. The annual selection of up to twenty reviewed books features high quality titles reflecting Kansas cultural heritage.
KC3 Book Award
The KC3 Book Award highlights quality books for third graders and for special education students at this reading level. It is sponsored by the Greater Kansas City Association of School Librarians.
Mark Twain Award
The Mark Twain Award is selected by students in grades four through six and presented annually. This award is sponsored by the Missouri Association of School Librarians.
Missouri Building Block Picture Book Award
The Missouri Building Block Picture Book Award, administered by the Children's Services Round Table of MLA, is presented annually to the author and illustrator of the picture book voted most popular by preschool children in Missouri's public libraries.
Thorpe Menn Award
The Thorpe Menn Award for Literary Excellence, sponsored by the Kansas City Branch of the American Association of University Women, is presented to give recognition for excellence in writing by local authors.
