Working in the historic Central Library’s OneNorth computer center the Computer Lab Associate assists and instructs the public in using the Library’s computers, computer tablets, and printers. The duties include assisting the public in using various computer hardware and software in the Library’s computer lab; instructing patrons in a one-to-one or small group setting on technology skills; performing basic computer maintenance including cleaning of hardware; and troubleshoots basic hardware and software issues.

Kansas City Public Library is looking for an engaging, customer focused person to bring enthusiasm for service to all ages at its Trails West Branch. This position serves as a primary contact point for customers using the Library, ensuring a positive customer experience by determining customer needs, analyzing and solving problems, and directing customers to appropriate resources.

The duties of this position include sorting and accurately shelving Library materials; maintaining the general order and appearance of the Library by straightening shelves and clearing tables; and retrieving Library materials for staff and customers. Requirements include the ability to follow oral and written instructions; attention to detail and ability to perform duties with high level of accuracy; a demonstrated ability to learn Library operations and the Dewey Decimal System; and basic computer skills.

Kansas City Public Library is seeking an energetic and creative Youth Services Librarian. Reporting to the Director of Youth & Family Engagement, this librarian will have a home base at the Bluford Branch.

The Kansas City Public Library seeks a systems administrator for its Information Systems team. The position supports the IT infrastructure comprised of 250 staff computers, 450 Public Access Computers, and 50 Virtual Machines through an Active Directory 2008 domain. The position, reporting to the Director of Information Systems, collaborates with the IS team to keep critical technology systems running and optimized.

Reporting to the Director of Information Systems, the Senior Technical Support Specialist is responsible for coordinating smooth implementations of client-side applications in the Library’s hardware and technology environment and supporting educational efforts. The senior specialist consults with server-side staff, advising on client-side application, to develop and implement information systems in the Library’s environment and may be involved in any stage of a project’s lifecycle.
