Designed to explore Jewish literature and culture through scholar-led discussions of contemporary and classic books, the Let's Talk About It: Jewish Literature program at the Kansas City Public Library explores the theme of Demons, Golems, and Dybbuks: Monsters of the Jewish Imagination over the course of five sessions scheduled for the third Thursday of every month.

The StoneLion Puppet Theatre presents its latest production, The Emperor’s New Clothes, on Friday, December 12, at 7 p.m. at the Plaza Branch, 4801 Main St.

Loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen’s tale, this rendition is described as a “zany musical full of singing penguins, a wise walrus, and lots of charm.”

Emperor Pistachio, a penguin with unique fashion sense, has nothing to wear. A contest is announced and two shifty polar bears show up intent on duping the kingdom out of its riches.
