Rep. Emmanuel Cleaver II: Missouri’s Fifth Congressional District

Emanuel Cleaver II is now serving his fourth term representing Missouri’s Fifth Congressional District and was recently elected as chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus of the 112th Congress. Having served for 12 years on Kansas City’s City Council, Cleaver was elected as the city’s first African-American mayor in 1991. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Prairie View A&M of the University of Texas and a master’s degree from St. Paul Theology in Kansas City, augmented by five honorary doctoral degrees.

SYNOPSIS: The long-awaited trial of Muff Potter for the murder Dr. Robinson has arrived – and Tom is suffering acute pangs of conscience. As the trial progresses, the crowd in the courtroom is annoyed by the seeming incompetence of Potter’s attorney, that is, until a surprise witness is called to testify.
